Editorial Design
The Challenge
Ligature Journal is an award winning Australian design magazine which fosters an avant-garde approach, as the design of the magazine begins from scratch with each new issue. The challenge was to work with a small team to design the magazine from cover to cover, from start to finish–nominating the colour palette, type styles, the grid and page numbering systems, writing and/or designing for original content, designing and letter press printing the cover, and preparing the magazine for print.

The Solution
Ligature Journal prides itself on pushing the boundaries of design–literally–in this issue the magazine content extends into the trim area, and the marks and colour bars used by the printer are exposed to celebrate the construction of the magazine.
